Love Journal

This has become my new favorite gift to give.

I found these cute inexpensive journals at Target and printed off this cute poem where I got the idea (Creative stirrings).

I gave these to the girls at book club.  I thought it would be something fun for them and their hubby's.  I also have given this as a wedding gift, but I used a red "leather" journal.  I have another wedding that we are going to soon and will be giving the newlyweds a love journal.

If you're looking for a cute idea for a shower or wedding or just because, you might want to whip one of these up.

Katie and I fell in love with these

I'm not sure if you're like me, but I sure get tired of the same boring Valentines' Day cards at my local drug store.  This year the children and I searched online and found some super cute ones!  Living Locurto has links to over 40 free printables.  Check the site out, you might find something you really like.  Plus they are FREE

Flower "pin"

I found the Jones Design Company the other day and was inspired to make this darling flower.

I think it is so cute and I can't wait to make tons more using different colors, fabrics and sizes.

"Green Christmas"

I'm not much of a "wrapper". I can never seem to find wrapping paper that I really like, or if I do it seems to be more than I want to pay for something that is going to be thrown away. I really like the look of an old fashioned parcel, so last year I thought I would go with that theme. I took grocery bags and cut them to the size of the gift I was wrapping. I laid the printed side of the bag up and wrapped away. I had the Katie and Ian decorate shipping labels with different Christmas stamps and address them with markers. Then we tied the labels onto the gifts with raffia. Easy peasy and I like the way they turned out! I'm planning on using this idea again this year, now I just need to finish up my shopping!

I'm hoping to get my Christmas baking started this weekend. For some reason I am behind on that this year.

Bits of Encouragement and a "craft"

As you all know I'm not much of a crafter. I was feeling a little crafty, and wanted to add something to our mantel so I came up with this. First I cut out hearts out of origami paper we had. I took a piece of red thread and taped it to each end of our mantel. Then I took double stick tape (because Ian "has no idea" where the regular tape is) and taped the hearts to the thread. There you have it! I have to say I actually like it.

Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude.
