Getting ready to move.

Our new logo.

Hi friends!
You may have remembered some time ago I mentioned that we were making some new changes to our site.  It has been a lot of work, but I think we are nearing the end.
There is still some organizing to do and a few kinks to figure out and then I think we will be done for a little while.
I am hoping that we will have the site set up so that when you come to the blogger site it will automatically take you to the new site.
I probably won't be blogging for a little bit.  I need to clean things up at the new site for you.
I hope you are all doing great and having a wonderful week!
I can't wait to have you all over to our new "place"!
xoxo

Disney World Day {3} Animal Kingdom

Our third day at Disney we ventured to Animal Kingdom.

Last time Brian and Katie were the only two that braved Expedition Everest.  Ian was too small and I was too chicken.
This time we all went.  One time was enough for me.  The rest of my crew went a second time and they tried to go a third, but they had to stop the ride because it started storming.

Brian was the only one that went on Primeval whirl.   Last time Katie and I went on it.  I remember having to stop and rest for a moment not a fan of rides that spin.  Katie doesn't like spinning rides now either.  I'm not sure why Ian didn't go, he probably just needed a break.

We were all really looking forward to Kilimanjaro Safaris.  You get in this jeep like vehicle and they drive you around and you see all sorts of cool animals.

This ostrich was stalking us.  She kept getting very close to the back of the jeep where we were sitting. The driver quickly drove off, because I guess they are not that friendly.

Festival of the Lion King is a show that is put on number of times during the course of the day.  It's one of our favorites.  The singing is incredible.

Acrobatics.

What do you call the guy that plays with fire?  Well, whatever you call him he was there.

Lots of little street shows.

We also did a few other things.
Fining Nemo Musical (this was good, but geared more towards the younger set).
Dinosaur ride.  This isn't a roller coaster type of ride, but it can be a little scary.  If you have little ones you might want to reconsider.
We also went on one of the trails I think it was the Discovery Island, but I could be wrong it might have been Pangani.  Don't miss out on the trails lots of cool things to see.

The one bad thing that happened this day is that it started to storm and there really was no place to go.  We were heading out of the park, because we were done for the day.  We got soaked, and I mean soaked, everything was wet.  My phone even got wet and it was in our bag (it's fine).  It was a major downpour.  Regardless, we had fun and we were done for the day anyway.

Animal Kingdom is a great park, it's a great mix of rides and animals.  We highly recommend it.

Chefs de France

We took a nice leisurely stroll over to the world show case.  We saw this unusual bird on our way.
We had dinner reservations at Chefs De France.
This is a bistro like restaurant full of hustle and bustle.  There are lots of large windows and the tables and snug.

If you come at the right time you just might get a visit from Ratatouille.

I couldn't hear what he was saying but the kids thought he was really sweet.
Unfortunately I don't have many photos of dinner.  Ian, Brian, and I all decided on the three course meal.  Lobster bisque is what Ian and I choose, it was a red base with nice pieces of lobster and absolutely delicious.  Brian had the french onion soup and said it was excellent.  For our main courses Ian had the Macaroni baked with cream and gruyere cheese.  He really liked it, even though it was not like typical mac and cheese.  Katie had the Seared Scallops and Shrimp served with mushrooms and potatoes cooked in a lemon broth with bacon, carrots, and coriander.  She said it was the best thing she has ever eaten.  Brian and I had Broiled Salmon with smashed potatoes with butter and chives served with a tomato and red pepper sauce.  We both agreed this was the best salmon that we have ever had.  Then for dessert Katie had creme brulee, Ian had chocolate mousse, Brian and I both had Puff Choux with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce.  Yum Yum!

We loved this restaurant!  The atmosphere was exciting, the service was excellent (our waiter spoke in French to Katie), and the food was out of this world!  We would definitely go back and would highly recommend it.

Happy Monday everyone!

4th of July Festivities

Our lovely hostess.

Elizabeth set a lovely table.

Kid's table

Beverages

Snacks

Growing up my Mom always had 2-3 sets of china.  She always used this when we had company.  All three of us girls registered for china for our weddings.  My Mom has a tradition of giving us girls a place setting on our anniversary.  Elizabeth's dishes are so pretty.

The girls check out the pool and Mr. Young makes himself comfortable.

The boys having a snack.

The girl who wants to be a mermaid.

All four finally got in.

One of Elizabeth's really good friends (who is also in our book club) came with her family.

These two kept wrestling in the water.  They would stop every time I came over.  I'm not sure what Ian is thinking, it's not like Tyler is bigger than him or anything.

All the kids.

Elizabeth and Brian have done such a nice job on their outdoor space.  Love this pergola!

I brought this flag cake.

S'more time!

It has lights...I know!!

Dessert table!

Sparklers!!

Our host...salon owner by day pyro technician by night.

I dared someone to switch out the iPods.  Any guesses who that is?

We all had an amazing time!  Thanks so much to my Elizabeth and Brian H. for hosting!!
